Paintball uniforms generally consist of a pair of loose fitting pants and jersey, as well as camouflage fatigues for tactical matches. When choosing a pair of pants and jersey, select breathable and flexible material, as this will protect from overheating and discomfort, as well as allowing a high level of mobility to the wearer. Consider attire which includes added ventilation and extra padding over your knees and elbows for protection during an active game. For scenario games, it's most fun dressing up for the part and using the most realistic paintball guns and gear possible.

Any comfortable shoe will suffice but if you want the best traction for the terrain you're playing on, consider specific footwear. Whatever you decide to wear on your feet, however, should be dark in colour, as white shoes will stain easily from contact with mud and/or paintball paint. White shoes are also easier to see when trying to hide in the bush during a scenario game. If you've put effort into camouflaging yourself with the right patterned camo fatigues, it doesn't make sense to ruin your disguise with bright shoes that don't match. Also, make sure your footwear is as lightweight as possible, in order to maintain speed. Finally, paintball gloves, while not essential, can provide additional protection from injury, as well as adding a stylish finishing touch to the uniform ensemble. They may be purchased in numerous styles, to fit with the entirety of the uniform, and are available in either full, half, or two finger styles. Gloves are available for both tactical scenario play and tournament speedball with styles specific to each.
